Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) 2.0 / 3.0 – Release highlights

We’re happy to announce the launch of the latest version of the Appway BAM product. This release includes an Appway 5.3.10(+) compatible version (Appway BAM 2.0) as well as an Appway 6.0 compatible version (Appway BAM 3.0). Appway BAM versions 2.0 and 3.0 both contain a very similar set of new features, the difference being an improved dashboards UI for BAM 3.0.

New features in BAM 2.0/3.0:

Measure, Analyze & Monitor use case: A new use case for the BAM product which allows users to start tracking and storing process information in the BAM DB without being required to first set SLAs. This new use case solves the issue of SLA values not being available when BAM is installed for the first time.
Support for activity (token) level Key Performance Indicators: It is now possible to define and measure KPIs set at activity (token) level. This allows users to track values related to different sub-processes separately. Activity KPIs can also be used for filtering and reporting purposes in the BAM Dashboards.
New statistical charts in the BAM Dashboards: Two new charts have been added: a duration distribution bar chart and a duration scatter plot. The duration distribution bar chart displays the distribution of instance duration around the average duration, while the duration scatter plot can be used to find correlations between process duration and the value of a KPI.
Visual update of the BAM Dashboards: Dashboard styling has been improved from a design and usability perspective. The new dashboards also use Appway responsive screen components that adapt easily to smaller screens.
Support for additional database management systems: In addition to Oracle DBMS, BAM now also supports MySQL and SQLServer DBMS as storage technologies.
