Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) 3.1 — Release Highlights
Published October 27, 2014 by

We’re happy to announce the launch of BAM version 3.1 for Appway 6.1.
Selected highlights from this latest Appway BAM extension release are outlined below. For more in-depth information on the product as a whole, check out the
product documentation
. For a comprehensive list of new and updated features, see the
full release notes
(PDF).
New features in BAM 3.1
Saving activity participants' history:
BAM records the list of participant reassignments for an activity, and displays this information in the dashboards. If a Screen or sub-process is reassigned from one user to another, for example, BAM records this, along with the amount of time the activity was assigned to each user. This allows for a more detailed breakdown of the total time spent on the task with respect to the SLA.
Exclusion of weekends and holidays from SLAs:
You can configure BAM to exclude weekends and public holidays from process and activity SLA calculation.
Optimization of KPI storage:
BAM trackpoints are now saved directly to the BAM database, without using process instance and token attributes. This avoids excessive memory consumption should a large number of BAM KPIs be necessary. If required, you can enable saving of standard instance/token attributes as BAM KPIs to mimic the behavior of versions 2.0 and 3.0 of the BAM extension.
Publishing filters:
You can publish a saved filter to a group or role in the BAM dashboards. This makes the saved filter available to all users in the selected group or role.
Entitlements on process list:
Access to BAM data from a specific process can be restricted to a set of defined users, groups and/or roles.
Dashboard internationalization:
In addition to English, BAM dashboards are now available in German, French and Italian.
Support for additional Database Management Systems:
BAM 3.1 supports DB2 as a storage technology alongside the already supported Oracle, MySQL and SQLServer systems.
The next available BAM Training Course is on Thursday, 20 November.
