Patch Release: Appway 6.2.11
Published November 23, 2015 by
Stephan
Extensions
Script Functions
We're happy to announce the release of Appway 6.2.11 — a small patch release with 4 changes, 6 bugfixes and 3 new features.
The highlights of this release are outlined below:
Updated Script Language Function
The script language function "
StartProcess
" has an additional optional parameter to instruct Appway to only
initialize
the new process instance (initialize variables and put process tokens on start elements), but not immediately update the instance (move process tokens). This feature may be helpful in cases where a lot of process instances have to be started in a kind of batch job.
Orphaned Value Stores
Cleanup of orphaned value stores is no longer performed during shutdown. There is now a default Cron job running daily, checking if there are any orphaned value stores — but removal of these orphaned value stores is done with a separate specific configuration.
Cluster
A new system health sensor "Unique Properties" checks the configuration to ensure that properties that are supposed to be unique do indeed have a different value on every cluster node.
Staying with the cluster, log messages also now appear more quickly in the cluster log. Log messages are no longer collected "per transaction" and then written on commit, but instead written to the cluster log immediately.
More information can be found in the
Appway 6.2.11 release notes (PDF)
.
No special actions are required when upgrading from Appway 6.2.10 to 6.2.11.

ComponentExtension 6.2.12
The ComponentExtension version 6.2.12 is also now available. The ComponentExtension release contains 1 change, 1 feature and 2 bugfixes.
DatePicker
Added configuration "ext.componentextension.datepicker.parseMethod" to decide which parse method should be used for the dates.
Flowbar
Deprecated the "Position Automatically At Bottom" property due to possible layout problems on mobile devices.
TabBox
TabStyles.css will be created with an encoding set
Process Image
The Process Image component now gracefully handles process tokens on sub-process activities that do not have a sub-process token set.

Great! but How do you get it? A new license is needed?

Thanks for asking — patch releases do not require a new license.
You can always contact your project's Engagement Leader or Customer Success Manager if you're unsure, or your assigned Appway Solution Engineer will also be able to help.
