Greetings,
I was shown an Appway extension which would convert (or try to) a 5.1 data home to 5.2 or 5.3. I'm unable to find such documentation or extension to allow us to migrate a data home from one Appway version to another. I understand that this will convert only about 80% and then require some manual updates, which is great.

Any idea where I can find any information on data home converters?

Hi Marcel,

There is indeed a tool called "Data Home Converter". But it is neither an Appway extension nor is it publicly available. It's a standalone Java application and has to be started from the command line. It converts a data home from Appway 5.1.1 to Appway 5.2. There is no need to convert the data home from Appway 5.2 to Appway 5.3.

I will send you a download link to the most recent version of the tool by mail, together with some instructions on how to use it, ok?

The tool converts the data home in-place. You should therefore either create a backup of your data home or work on a copy. We usually make a first test run on a copy in order to identify critical issues. If you like, you can send me the output of such a test run and I can help you with the interpretation.
