A serious vulnerability in the OpenSSL cryptographic software library was revealed this week. Neither the Appway Platform nor its forerunner Nm'4 are directly affected by the so-called Heartbleed Bug.
However, as any other Java web application, Appway is deployed in a Java application server or servlet container like IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, JBoss or Apache Tomcat.
These application servers may rely on native third-party libraries like OpenSSL to implement SSL-related features. For example, Apache Tomcat can be optionally configured to use OpenSSL for better HTTPS scalability and performance.
We strongly recommend that Appway server administrators check if their application server installation is vulnerable or not. You will find more information under heartbleed.com.
The developer.appway.com website was not affected by the Heartbleed Bug and your account details are safe, including your password.
